Taras Pecheny is teaching a violin masterclass in Zagreb from January 8th to 12th 2026. This will be an intensely technique focused masterclass for participants that wish to work with prof. Pecheny.
Taras Pecheny is a Ukrainian violinist of international repute. He stands out equally in both his concert and pedagogical work, and is considered one of the last representatives of Yuri Yankelevich's school. Born in 1948 in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast of Ukraine, he obtained his diploma in 1972 at the P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Kyiv in classes of prof. Olga Parhomenko and Bogodar Kotorović - laureate of the Paganini and Enesco competition. He received his master's degree at the same institution in 1975 in the class of prof. Kotorović and obtained the title of concert soloist, orchestra soloist, and conservatory level lecturer. During his education, he trained with Mstislav Rostropovič, Yevgenija Čugajeva, Yuri Yankelevich, and others. He won a number of state awards and was one of the laureates of the federal competition of the former Soviet Union in Yerevan in 1972. As a soloist, he performed with Kyiv Philharmonic, Ukrainian State Symphony Orchestra, Kyiv State Opera Orchestra, Varaždin Chamber Orchestra, Croatian Radiotelevision Symphony Orchestra, and Zagreb Philharmonic. He was the first violin of the Kyiv Philharmonic Quartet, concertmaster of the Ukrainian State Symphony Orchestra in Kyiv, Kyiv State Opera, Maribor Opera, and Croatian Radiotelevision Symphony Orchestra. He had an extremely successful pedagogical career at the P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Kyiv, at the University of Maribor, and at Zagreb Academy of Music. His students are laureates of numerous international competitions, members and concert masters of professional orchestras throughout Europe, and excellent pedagogues.
Applications are open until December 20th 2025. Participation fee is 500 euros for active participants, and 100 euros for passive participants. There are ten active spots available. Each active participant will get a 60 min session with professor Pecheny each day of the masterclass.

Taras Pecheny održat će masterclass iz violine od 8. do 12. siječnja 2026. u Zagrebu. Ovaj masterclass bit će isključivo fokusiran na violinističku tehniku.
Taras Pecheny ukrajinski je violinist međunarodnog ugleda. Ističe se podjednako u koncertantnoj i pedagoškoj djelatnosti te ga se smatra jednim od posljednjih predstavnika škole Yurija Yankelevicha. Rođen 1948. u Dnjepropetrovskoj oblasti u Ukrajini, diplomu stječe 1972. na Kijevskom konzervatoriju P. I. Čajkovski u klasama prof. Olge Parhomenko i Bogodara Kotorovića-laureata natjecanja Paganini i Enesco. Magistrira na istoj ustanovi 1975. u klasi prof. Kotorovića te stječe zvanje koncertnog soliste, soliste orkestra i predavača na visokoj glazbenoj školi. Za vrijeme školovanja usavršavao se na seminarima predavača Mstislava Rostropoviča, Jevgenije Čugajeve, Yurija Yankelevicha i dr. Dobitnik je niza državnih nagrada te se plasirao među laureate saveznog natjecanja bivšeg Sovjetskog saveza u Erevanu 1972. Kao solist nastupio je uz Kijevsku filharmoniju, Ukrajinski državni simfonijski orkestar, Orkestar kijevske državne opere, Varaždinski komorni orkestar, Simfonijski orkestar HRT-a te Zagrebačku filharmoniju. Bio je prva violina Kvarteta Kijevske filharmonije, koncertni majstor Ukrajinskog državnog simfonijskog orkestra u Kijevu, Kijevske državne opere, Mariborske opere i Simfonijskog orkestra HRT-a. Iznimno uspješnu pedagošku djelatnost postigao je na Kijevskom konzervatoriju P. I. Čajkovski, Sveučilištu u Mariboru te na Muzičkoj akademiji u Zagrebu. Njegovi učenici laureati su mnogobrojnih međunarodnih natjecanja, članovi i koncertni majstori profesionalnih orkestara diljem Europe te vrsni pedagozi.
Prijave su otvorene do 20. prosinca 2025. Cijena seminara je 500 eura za aktivne polaznike, a 100 eura za pasivne polaznike. Imamo deset slobodnih mjesta za aktivne polaznike.
